HNBGU Non-Teaching Recruitment 2026: Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University (HNBGU), a Central University, Srinagar Garhwal, Uttarakhand, has released the HNBGU Non-Teaching Recruitment 2026 notification for eligible candidates. The recruitment is being conducted for 27 Non-Teaching Group ‘B’ posts on a direct recruitment basis. The available posts include Assistant, Private Secretary, Personal Assistant, Senior Technical Assistant, Assistant Engineer, Junior Engineer, Horticulturist, Assistant Information & Public Relation Officer and Sports Coach. The online application process will start on 17 August 2026 and the last date to submit the online application is 16 September 2026 up to 6:00 PM. Candidates have to apply online through the HNBGU SAMARTH Recruitment Portal. The application fee is ₹1,000 for UR/OBC/EWS candidates and ₹500 for SC/ST/PwBD category and women applicants. The application fee has to be paid online through Credit Card, Debit Card or Net Banking/UPI as permitted by the portal. The fee once paid will not be refunded. Candidates applying for more than one post are required to submit separate applications and pay the fee separately for each post.

Post-wise Qualification Details

Assistant: Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University/Institute, along with at least 3 years’ experience as UDC or equivalent in Level 4, or 8 years’ experience as LDC/equivalent in Level 2 in a Central/State Government, University, PSU or autonomous body. Working knowledge of computer applications, noting and drafting is also required.

Private Secretary: Bachelor’s Degree, at least 3 years’ experience as Personal Assistant, English/Hindi stenography speed of 120/100 wpm and typing speed of 35/30 wpm respectively are required. Knowledge of computer applications is also required.

Personal Assistant: Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline, stenography speed of 100 wpm in English or Hindi, typing speed of 35/30 wpm, computer knowledge and 2 years’ relevant experience are required.

Senior Technical Assistant (Auto CAD): B.Tech with Diploma in Auto CAD OR Master’s Degree in Physics/Mathematics/Computer with Diploma in Auto CAD.

Senior Technical Assistant (HAPPRC): Master’s Degree in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Environmental Science, Agriculture Science, Plant Science, Medicinal and Aromatic Plants or Botany from a recognized university.

Assistant Engineer (Civil): First Class Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or relevant field along with 3 years’ relevant experience as Junior Engineer or equivalent.

Junior Engineer (Civil/Electrical): Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant engineering field with one year’s relevant experience OR Diploma in the relevant engineering field with three years’ relevant experience.

Senior Technical Assistant (ICT): B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science/Information Technology OR MCA/equivalent OR M.Sc. in Computer Science/Information Science, along with 3 years’ relevant software development/maintenance experience. Qualifying degrees should have at least 55% marks.

Horticulturist: M.Sc. Agriculture with Horticulture specialization, M.Sc. Horticulture with Floriculture, M.Sc. Botany with Horticulture specialization, or B.Sc. Agriculture with Horticulture, along with the prescribed relevant experience.

Assistant Information & Public Relation Officer: Master’s Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication with at least 55% marks OR Master’s Degree in any discipline with First Division plus PG Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication, along with at least 3 years’ relevant experience.

Sports Coach: Master’s Degree in Physical Education and Diploma in Coaching from NIS or equivalent qualification. Experience and competence in coaching sports are desirable.

HNBGU Non-Teaching Recruitment 2026 Age Limit

The post-wise maximum age limit ranges from 35 years to 40 years. Assistant, Private Secretary, Personal Assistant, Senior Technical Assistant, Junior Engineer and Sports Coach posts generally have a maximum age of 35 years, while Assistant Engineer, Horticulturist and Assistant Information & Public Relation Officer have a maximum age of 40 years.

Age relaxation for SC, ST, OBC and PwBD candidates will be provided according to applicable DoPT/Government of India rules. The age, qualification and experience will be calculated as on the last date of online application.

HNBGU Non-Teaching Recruitment 2026 Salary

The selected candidates will be appointed against the respective Pay Levels mentioned in the recruitment notification. The posts are offered in Pay Level 6 and Pay Level 7 under the university’s applicable pay structure.

The exact salary and allowances will be governed by the applicable University/Government of India rules.

As per the notification, no interview will be held for Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ posts covered under the specified Government of India provision. However, the University reserves the right to conduct a written test/skill test for any post if permitted under the applicable Cadre Recruitment Rules.
