Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh has released a Detailed Employment Notice for recruitment to the post of Driver on its establishment. Through Employment Notice No. 04/DRV/HC/2026, the High Court has invited online applications from eligible candidates for 25 vacant Driver posts. The online application process starts from 28 August 2026 at 11:59 PM.
Candidates having 10+2 qualification, Punjabi/Hindi as a subject in Matriculation, a valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) driving licence and at least two years’ experience of driving a car can apply. The minimum age is 18 years and the maximum age is 35 years as on 18 September 2026. Selection will be based on a Practical Test-cum-Interview, subject to any shortlisting criteria adopted by the High Court.

Educational Qualification & Experience
Candidates must fulfill all of the following requirements:
- Must be at least 10+2 pass.
- Punjabi/Hindi must be one of the subjects in the Matriculation examination.
- Must possess a valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) Driving Licence.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in driving a car.
- The candidate must not have been convicted for any offence relating to negligent driving.
A higher category driving licence does not automatically establish eligibility for the required LMV licence.
Punjab & Haryana High Court Driver Recruitment 2026 Age Limit
The candidate’s age should be 18 to 35 years as on 18 September 2026. For Ex-Servicemen candidates, the upper age limit will be relaxed by the number of years equal to their defence service plus 3 years. All eligibility conditions relating to age, qualification and experience must be fulfilled on the last date of application.
Punjab & Haryana High Court Driver Recruitment 2026 Salary
The pay and allowances of selected candidates will be governed according to the latest applicable rules and instructions of the Government of Punjab as adopted by the Punjab & Haryana High Court for its employees.
Candidates proposed for appointment will initially be required to work for a trial period, during which remuneration will be paid according to the applicable daily-wager rates approved by the Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh. Appointment will be considered after successful completion of the trial period and assessment by the High Court.

The High Court may adopt a suitable shortlisting criterion depending upon the number of applications received. Provisionally eligible candidates will be called for the Practical Test-cum-Interview.
