The recruitment is being conducted under the provisions applicable to meritorious sportspersons in Central Government services. Income Tax Sports Quota Recruitment 2026 Sports Eligibility
The recruitment is specifically for meritorious sportspersons. Eligible sporting achievements include:
- Representing India in an International Competition with prescribed clearance.
- Representing a State/UT in recognized Senior or Junior National Championships or National Games.
- Medal winners in Junior National Championships.
- Medal winners in Khelo India Youth Games, Khelo India Winter Games, Khelo India Para Games and Khelo India University Games.
- Representing a University in recognized Inter-University competitions.
- Representing State School Teams in National Sports/Games for Schools.
- For Chess, specified achievements such as Grand Master (GM), International Master (IM) title or Chess Olympiad participation are considered.
Sports Achievement Period
Only recognized sporting achievements obtained between 01 January 2022 and 30 June 2026 will be considered. Achievements before 01.01.2022 or after 30.06.2026 will not be considered.
Income Tax Sports Quota Recruitment 2026 Age Limit
Tax Assistant
18 to 27 years as on 01 July 2026.
Multi-Tasking Staff
18 to 25 years as on 01 July 2026.
Age relaxation is provided as specified in the notification: 5 years for UR/OBC candidates and 10 years for SC/ST candidates, subject to fulfillment of the other eligibility conditions and submission of the prescribed certificate.

Income Tax Sports Quota Recruitment 2026 Sports Preference
The department has prescribed a preference order for selection. The first preference is given to candidates who represented the country in an International Competition with the required clearance. Subsequent preferences include State/UT representation in National Championships or National Games with medals/positions up to third place, University competitions, Khelo India competitions and School Games.
In case of a tie, higher sporting achievement during the reckoning period will be considered, followed by the cumulative number of medals won. Individual and team events are given the same preference.

Candidates must fill the prescribed Annexure-A application form and send it by Normal Post/Speed Post/Registered Post/Courier to:

The envelope should clearly mention:

Candidates are additionally requested to furnish their details through the Google Form mentioned in the notification. However, submission of the Google Form is in addition to and not a substitute for the physical application. In case of discrepancy, the duly submitted physical application will prevail.
The application and supporting documents must reach the office by 30 September 2026. Physical presence at the office for submission is not compulsory.
