RRC SR Scouts & Guides Quota Recruitment 2026: Apply for Various Posts

Southern Railway Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC Chennai) has released Employment Notice No. RRC-01/S&G/2026-27 dated 19 September 2026 for recruitment against the Scouts & Guides Quota for the year 2026-27. The recruitment is open for Level-1 and Level-2 posts in Southern Railway and ICF. Eligible Indian citizens who fulfill the prescribed Scouts & Guides and educational qualifications can submit their applications online.

The online application process starts on 19 September 2026 at 09:00 AM and will remain open up to 18 October 2026 at 11:59 PM. Candidates can apply separately for Level-2 and Level-1 categories if they satisfy the eligibility conditions. Separate applications and applicable fees are required for both categories.

Candidates who are eligible and actually appear in the Written Test/Hybrid CBT-cum-Physical Exam will receive the prescribed refund after deduction of bank charges: ₹400 for the ₹500 category and ₹250 for the ₹250 category.

Note: For Level-2, the 50% requirement is not insisted upon for SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen in the specified NTPC categories. The specific category and place of posting will be decided by the administration at the time of appointment.

Scouts & Guides Eligibility

Candidates must fulfill the prescribed Scouts & Guides requirements, including:

• Should be a Guide/Rover/Ranger or holder of Himalayan Wood Badge (HWB) proficiency.
• Must have been an active member of a Scouts organization for the last five years.
• Must have attended two National Level or All Indian Railway Level events and two State Level events.
• The required activity should cover the prescribed recent period and continue during 2026-27.
• Certificates of activeness and details of events must be submitted in the prescribed formats.

Age will be calculated as on 01 January 2027.

Additional age relaxation is available for eligible serving Railway employees, widows/divorced women/judicially separated women, persons domiciled in Kashmir Division during the specified period, quasi-administrative Railway staff, ex-servicemen and PwBD candidates as detailed in the notification.

Southern Railway Scouts & Guides Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

The selection process includes a Written Test / Hybrid CBT-cum-Physical Exam, followed by assessment of Scouts & Guides certificates/achievements and subsequent stages as prescribed by RRC. The written/hybrid examination carries 60 marks, while Scouts & Guides certificates are assessed for 40 marks, making a total of 100 marks.

Candidates recommended for appointment must also qualify the prescribed medical examination.

The examination duration is 1 hour. There is negative marking in the objective section, with 1/3rd of the marks allotted to an objective question deducted for each wrong answer. The syllabus covers Scouts & Guides organization and activities along with General Knowledge.

The syllabus includes History of Scouting/Guiding, Law & Promise, organizational structure, training centres, scouting books, Motto, Left Hand Shake, Salute, Prayer, Flag Song, National Anthem, National and Scouting flags, social service, hiking, proficiency badges, progressive training, handicrafts, Indian Railway Jamboree, National Jamboree, Jamboree on the Air, WAGGGS/WOSM, competitions, community development programmes, aims and methods of Scouting and related topics.

1. Scouts & Guides qualification certificates.
2. Certificate of Activeness in prescribed format.
3. Details of events attended in prescribed format.
