Canara Bank Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Notification Out for 3500 Posts

Canara Bank has released the official notification for engagement of Graduate Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961 for FY 2026-27. A total of 3,500 Graduate Apprentice training seats are available across various States/UTs. Eligible Indian citizens can apply online through the Canara Bank recruitment portal after completing registration and a 100% profile on the NATS apprenticeship portal.

The online application process will be conducted from 01 October 2026 to 17 October 2026. Candidates must hold a graduation degree in any discipline and must have completed graduation between 01 January 2023 and 01 September 2026. Selection will be based on State-wise merit prepared using 12th/Diploma marks, followed by document verification, local-language test where applicable, and medical fitness.

Canara Bank Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Qualification

Candidates must possess a Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a university recognized by the Government of India or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government. The candidate must have passed graduation not earlier than 01 January 2023 and not later than 01 September 2026. Candidates who have completed training or have one or more years of job experience after completion of their educational qualification are not eligible.

Canara Bank Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Age Limit

The minimum age is 20 years and the maximum age is 28 years as on 01 September 2026. Candidates must have been born between 02 September 1998 and 01 September 2006, both dates inclusive. Upper-age relaxation is 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and 10 years for PwBD candidates. Specific age concessions are also available for eligible widows, divorced women and women legally separated from their husbands who have not remarried.

Canara Bank Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

Selection will be made through a State-wise merit list prepared in descending order based on marks/percentage obtained in the 12th Standard (HSC/10+2) or Diploma Examination. The minimum qualifying marks are 60% for General/EWS and other applicable candidates and 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates. In case of equal percentage, the candidate’s age will be considered, with older candidates ranked higher. Document verification, local-language test where applicable and medical fitness are required for final engagement.

Local Language Test

Candidates who provide a 10th or 12th standard marksheet/certificate showing that they studied the specified local language will not have to take the local-language test. Other candidates will undergo the test during Document Verification. Candidates who fail the test will not be engaged as apprentices.

Canara Bank Apprentice Training & Stipend

The apprenticeship training period will be 12 months and on-the-job training will be provided at selected Canara Bank branches according to the prescribed course/curriculum. Apprentices will receive a monthly stipend of ₹16,650/-, comprising ₹10,500/- paid by Canara Bank and ₹6,150/- Government share credited through DBT, subject to the applicable guidelines.
