SBC Recruitment 2026 Endurance & Skill Test
Fire Engine Driver Endurance Test
Candidates for Fire Engine Driver will be shortlisted for the Endurance Test in a ratio of at least 1:15 based on CBT merit. The qualifying Endurance Test includes:
- Carrying filled sand and water buckets for 100 metres in 45 seconds
- 20 Squats (Uthak Baithak)
- 15 Push-ups
- 15 Bent-Knee Sit-Ups
Fire Engine Driver Skill Test
The Skill Test includes practical driving of DCP and Water Fire Tenders, knowledge of road rules and symbols, vehicle checks, motor mechanism, maintenance, emergency drills, first aid, firefighting procedures, spare/tool identification and related practical activities. Candidates must also demonstrate tyre-changing ability, rectify minor defects and perform daily vehicle routines.
CMTD Skill Test
The CMTD Skill Test includes driving on ramp and road, knowledge of road rules and symbols, vehicle checks, motor mechanism, driving of heavy/light motor vehicles, inspection of oil/coolant/water, vehicle cleanliness, defect inspection, lubrication and minor adjustments. There is no Endurance Test for CMTD.

The CBT syllabus covers General Intelligence, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and the prescribed Trade/General English sections.
General Intelligence: Questions may cover similarities and differences, space visualization, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, figure classification, number series and analytical functions.
General Awareness: Questions may cover current events, everyday observation, India and neighbouring countries, sports, history, culture, geography, economics, polity, Indian Constitution and scientific research.
